獣兵衛忍風帖, Ninja Scroll (1993)

 I’m not huge into Japanese anime, but if I were to choose one of the favorites, it’s this one.  I remember buying this on VHS when I was thirteen and being amazed at the digital parts of it which were big at the time.  The Nine Devils of Kimon that were portrayed in the film were reminiscent of those found in SNK games throughout the early nineties on the Neo Geo arcade machines back in the day.

This reminded me of my childhood when I saw this.  As a child, I remember seeing Miyazaki’s films; he’s one of the influences that got me into foreign cinema and animation.  Upon seeing some of these films again as an adult, it astounds me how detailed Miyazaki is in the study of children and how it reminds you of your own youth through his animations.

  I am a child who will never grow up.
